This course is a survey of the foundational principles of biology with special emphasis on the physical sciences as they relate to life. The four units of study in this course are 1) The Chemistry of Life, 2) The Molecular Basis of Energy Transfer, 3) DNA and Reproduction, and 4) Evolution and the Diversity of Life. This course is intended to offer the student a multidisciplinary perspective of the biological sciences that includes chemistry, physics, and earth sciences. This course fulfills the general education requirements for laboratory science in degrees at Western Wyoming Community College.?Credit will not be received for BIOL 1000 and also BIOL 1003 or BIOL 1010.
